2017 Arts Advocacy Day - Thursday, February 9th

Arts Advocacy Day is the one day each year that arts advocates, organization leaders, and patrons come together to speak with our Nebraska legislators about the importance of supporting the arts and arts education in our state. Registration is only $15 to cover the cost of the continental breakfast and refreshments at all three events. All are welcome to attend! Click here to register.

Arts Advocacy Breakfast  |  Room 1023, State Capitol

The event starts at 8:00 a.m. with an opportunity to talk directly with State Senators. Afterwards, advocates visit State Senators and their offices.

Using Data to Make Your Case for the Arts - Panel Presentation  |  10:00 a.m.-11:15 a.m. - Nebraska State Office Building, Lincoln

While you know that data can support telling policymakers, donors, and patrons about your organization’s impact on your community’s economy and well-being, it's not always easy to understand how to find and use data in the most effective way. This presentation includes representatives from WESTAF, the providers of Creative Vitality Suite, and arts organizations to demonstrate ways to find and use the data you want or need.

Lunch n' Learn - Tools for Supporting Arts & Creative Industries  |  noon-1:15 p.m.- Nonprofit Hub, 14th & P Street, Lincoln

Grab a meal from nearby restaurants, then learn about technology the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) has to support your creative projects. Learn about application systems to effectively manage public art projects, residencies, exhibitions, arts shows, festivals, and fairs. Also learn about the progress of Independent Music on Tour (IMTour), a pilot program for Front Range musicians and nonprofit presenters.
